Our Pottertown The Pottertown community was named for the potter's shop, which was located on Hwy. 280 (Pottertown Rd.). The potter's shop was owned and operated by the Nance family in the early 1900s. Although the shop was closed in the mid-1950s, the community kept the name.
East Elementary is at the northern edge of Pottertown along Hwy. 280, one mile south of Hwy. 94E. Many summer visitors have returned to the region to enjoy their retirement. Yet, the area remains steeped in local culture and agriculture. Poplar Spring Baptist Church is honored to serve our local families and to welcome visitors and guests from around the country, and from across town at Murray State University. For more information about our area, please visit the Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce. |
